The main goal of UAT is to mitigate the risk of software being delivered without meeting the stated or implied requirements necessary for users to accomplish the goals of your organization.
This chapter begins by looking at several common risks related to UAT that you should watch out for. It then covers multiple approaches to recognizing, analyzing, and tracking the risks that confront your project. Finally, this chapter addresses three specific approaches for mitigating risk that are especially applicable to UAT: automating test cases, outsourcing (and how to reduce risk through your vendor selection) and off-shoring, and the special considerations for each.
