This chapter focuses on the influence of the tensile behaviour of concrete on protective structures in practice. Based on the fundamentals given in previous chapters, the actions of impact, penetration and perforation are discussed, followed by the contact detonation. A specific section is devoted to blast design. If a building or a structural element has faced exceptional loads, its residual carrying capacity is of interest. The chapter ends with a description of a number of projects that have been set up.
