So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Kapitel 4: Verteilte Repositorys
Eine große Stärke von Git ist, dass ein Repository auf vielen verschiedenen Rechnern verteilt liegen kann. Es ist daher, wie eingangs schon beschrieben, ein verteiltes Versionsverwaltungsprogramm.
In den ersten drei Kapiteln des Buches ging es darum, ein Repository mit einigen Dateien und Commits aufzubauen. All dies geschah vollständig lokal, sodass keine Daten den Rechner verlassen haben. Für das allgemeine Verständnis kommt noch eine Abstraktionsschicht hinzu, da von nun die Arbeit an mit mehreren Repositorys im Vordergrund steht. In der Theorie ist jedes Repository mit jedem gleichgestellt. Dies sieht in der Praxis allerdings etwas anders aus, da bei den meisten Projekten mit einem zentralen Server ...
