The following table is an essential checklist of data items to have ready before you set up your first Hadoop cluster. You should use a tool such as vSphere Big Data Extensions to assist with the provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance of the clusters. Many of the terms used here are taken from the vSphere Big Data Extensions User and Administrator Guide.
