A Quick Tour of Windows XP

TASKBAR, START-BUTTON, AND PULL-DOWN-MENUS

Welcome to Windows XP—the latest version of Windows by Microsoft. I assume that you have already installed Windows XP on your computer. If this is not true, then take help of some local expert and install it right now. Switch on the computer and the monitor displays the screen shown in Figure A1. Click your name (I will click my name Shirish) and the monitor displays the opening screen of Windows XP as shown in Figure A2. Notice the taskbar lying at the bottom. Click the Start button on the taskbar (or strike the Windows key on the keyboard) and the Start-menu gets pulled down as shown in Figure A3. Actually the Start-menu is not pulled down but thrown up.
