It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Task 1: Determine Whether DFS Namespace Will Be Implemented
A DFS namespace can shield end users from the complexity of having a number of resources on different network file servers. With DFS in place, users do not have to remember UNC paths or map multiple drives to make sense of the File Services infrastructure. Instead, they can be presented with a single hierarchical folder structure.
DFS namespace—when used with DFS-R—also offers fault tolerance for the File Services infrastructure by mapping clients to alternate servers when a server is offline.
