Careers in Hardware and Software

When it comes to finding a job in audio engineering, Dawn Birr has this to say: “Who we are looking for are people who have a background in electrical engineering, psychoacoustics, or acoustics: people that spend their time measuring audio and understanding how it translates practically in the world. But the number one thing we hire for is attitude – and then we’ll train you. That’s a big deal to us: if we find the right person who’s willing to learn, we’re going to make sure that they learn. It never hurts to have the credentials, and education is an important tool, but it’s some of the soft skills, too, that we’re definitely looking for” (Birr, 2019).
