2章ユーザーロール、権限、機能を実装する
WebアプリケーションやWebサイトの成否は、ユーザー体験によって大きく左右される。優れた力を持っているのに、ユーザーとのやりとりに問題があるばかりに多くの人々に知られないWebアプリケーションはたくさんある。サイトを訪れる人々は、ユーザー登録やログインなどの最初の作業が複雑かどうかを見て、そのサイトを使うか二度と来ないかを決める。そこで、私たちは開発者として、シンプルで対話的なユーザー管理プロセスを作らなければならない。
この章では、主として既存のユーザー管理機能を典型的なWebアプリケーションに合わせて修正することに力を注ぐ。この目標を達成するために、ユーザー管理機能をもともとのWordPressコアからカスタムテンプレートに移すための作業もする。
よりよい使い心地を実現するために努力すると同時に、URLルーティング、アクセス制御、カスタムテンプレート操作などのWebアプリケーション開発の高度な側面も見ていく。
