Not only is being attacked by viruses embarrassing, but if someone in your organization were the perpetuator of the virus, that would be an even bigger embarrassment. Organizations do not want to be known as supporters of spreading viruses. A number of organizations have requested a very strong policy statement about being involved with viruses. Some have even requested that the statement include potential penalties for breaking this policy. The following is a strong statement I used for one organization:
