Chapter 14. STEVE'S RULES

Following these rules can help you protect yourself from identity theft. The rules also will tell you what to do if you do become a victim of identity theft. If you have debt problems, these rules will instruct you about the best ways to deal with credit counselors and the traps to avoid. These rules will also help you understand your credit report and your credit score, as well as tell you what you need to do to improve your all-important credit score. These are my rules, some of which I even follow.

  1. Never give personal information over the phone to anyone whom you have not called, and always be sure of to whom you are speaking.
