Quite often, I am asked about technical cybersecurity project ideas from people who want to get into the field. Looking back at my career, the knowledge gained from doing these projects helped me immensely. Each of these projects has an underlying big idea that will prove to be very valuable for the long term. Each of these projects can start out very small and can morph into something big. These projects do not have a significant financial cost, all under $50.00. The only requirement is to have access to a computer of some sort.
Build a Static Website Using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Amazon S3
Without using a frontend framework such as Bootstrap, write a simple static website using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Amazon S3. One idea for a website is a personal website. I do not recommend using a frontend framework for this project because it provides so much for you where you don’t need to understand how things really work. Build the website using a good code editor (e.g., Atom, Sublime, Visual Studio Code).
