James A. Momoh is a professor and former chair (1990-2000) of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the founder and director of the Center for Energy Systems and Controls (CESaC) at Howard University, Washington, DC. Additionally, he served as the program director of the Electrical and Communication Systems division at the National Science Foundation (2001-2004), where he was responsible for the development of the interdisciplinary program “Electric Power Network Efficiency and Security.” He was also a principal consultant at Bonneville Power Administration, Portland, Oregon, and the affiliate staff scientist at Pacific Northwest Laboratory, Seattle, Washington.
