Custom tools panels
In the January 2014 update for Illustrator CC, tools panels can now be customized. This is a great way to be able to create custom tools panels that contain the tools you use most often, for example. When you create a custom tools panel, it is saved with Illustrator and can be closed and opened, regardless of which document is open. They can also be docked and saved in a custom workspace you create.
Next, you’ll create and edit a custom tools panel.
1. Choose Window > Tools > New Custom Tools Panel.
2. In the Custom Tools Panel dialog box, give the new tools panel a name that makes sense to you. We changed the Name to Drawing. Click OK.
