A set of programming commands that follow each other in a particular order to accomplish tasks. Application is another name for a computer program.
argument
Any value that is sent into a program or a custom block.
array
A variable that can hold multiple values using the same name.
backdrop
What displays behind your sprites on the Stage. A costume for the Stage sprite.
block
A puzzle-piece shape in Scratch that is used to create commands.
Boolean block
A hexagonally shaped Scratch block that stands for a true or false value.
branching
Programming commands that choose between multiple paths.
broadcasting
In Scratch, a broadcast sends a secret message that only sprites can tune into and hear.
bug
Anything that causes your program to run incorrectly or not at all.
cap block
A Scratch block that is used to stop a script or project.
C-block
A C-block is a Scratch block that stack blocks can fit into. They perform loops or make decisions.
chat bot
A program that talks, or chats, with people.
coding
A common name for computer programming. When you code, you’re using a computer language to tell computers what to do.
command
An instruction, written in a programming language, that tells a computer to do a task.
comment
A note that you leave in a program that’s intended to be read by people rather than computers.
conductor
