Creating a New Project

In the preceding chapter, you installed Android Studio. In this chapter, you’ll create a new Android project to highlight some of the features of Android Studio. An Android project is the main repository for all the files that make up your application.

Opening Android Studio for the First Time

If this is the first time you have opened Android Studio, the first thing it will try to do is update some functional components. You may end up seeing a window like that in Figure 2-1, before the Android Studio IDE even opens.
