Programming the ARM-based microcontrollers

Abstract

A microcontroller is simply a piece of hardware and it has to be programmed before it can be used intelligently in a project. Programming a microcontroller is done using a programming tool, which consists of a programming software and a programming hardware device. Programming software tools are usually in the form of integrated development environments (IDEs) that consists of an editor, compiler, simulator, and programmer. There are several ARM programming software tools, developed by various manufacturers that can be used to program ARM-based microcontrollers.
