The Linux Shell (or List Status or List Summary) utility is a Linux shell command with many options. It is used to list
metadata (information) about the files and directories present on disk. The ls command is often
aliased to include some optional arguments. To use the
unaliased version of ls, proceed “ls” at the Linux command prompt with the backslash character and you’ll see something like this:
suse-tw-z4@~/Development/asm_x86_64/directory/ll$
