So, we are ready to start recording. First off, due to their rhythmic nature, I am assuming that you know what the fundamental parts of a drum kit are and what each part does. Just in case you don’t know what the parts are called, Figure 11.1 is a quick explanation.

I also assume that at this stage of the production process, you have either recorded a scratch track (a guide track, usually lead vocals and guitar, for the drummer to play along to) or you are intending the band to play together live during the recording.
