Chapter 3The Clarity Discipline
Thomas arrived at the park early Saturday morning, the cool autumn air invigorating as the sun peeked through the canopy of golden leaves. Leah sat at a picnic table under a sprawling oak, a thermos of tea beside her and a notebook in front of her. She glanced up as Thomas approached, her serene demeanor radiating calm.
“Morning, Thomas, right on time,” she said, gesturing for him to join her. “How's the team doing?” Leah felt a tremendous sense of purpose in this season of life investing in others as The Professor had done with her, all the many years before.
Thomas sighed as he sat down. “Better, I think. The learning exercise definitely helped. We've started asking more questions and reflecting on what's holding us back. But there's still a sense of… disconnection. It's like we're all working hard, but not together.”
Leah nodded, pouring herself a cup of tea. “That's because learning is only the first step. Once a team starts to reflect and rethink, the next challenge is turning those insights into alignment. That's where the Clarity Discipline comes in.”

Leah leaned forward as she produced a blueberry scone from the paper bag next to her. She placed it on the napkin and put it in front of Thomas. “Here, this will help as you process this morning.” She said with a wink and grin, her tea steaming gently in the crisp air.
