14.4.2 Data access
Allowing users to access data requires authorization of access; otherwise, unauthorized data
access can spoil the business goal. In order to ensure authorized data access, we first discuss
how users (service consumer) and servers (service provider) can authenticate each other, and
after successful authentication the user is allowed to access his data from the server. Once
the user is authorized to access his data, he/she has also established a secure channel between
him/her and the server so that transmitted data can be protected from others.
