このHackではBinary Hacksに関する基本的な用語を紹介します。
- ABI（Application Binary Interface）
- 異なるシステムが連携するためのバイナリに関する決まり事。
- Armアーキテクチャ
- Arm社によって設計、ライセンスされているアーキテクチャ。スマートフォン向けのCPUからスーパーコンピュータに至るまで広く採用されている。Armv8以降では64ビットのAArch64実行状態と32ビットのAArch32実行状態を持ち、前者ではA64命令セットが、後者ではA32とT32命令セットが利用できる。本書ではAArch64実行状態とA64命令セットをまとめて単にAArch64と呼ぶことがある。
- ASLR（Address Space Layout Randomization）
- 日本語では「アドレス空間配置のランダム化」と呼ばれる。実行のたびに利用するメモリ領域のアドレスをランダムに変更するセキュリティの技術。利用するためにはバイナリがPICであることが必須である。
