I meet someone at the airport—a potential client. With earnest intentions we exchange numbers. A promise to explore is followed by obvious hope. I shoot out an e-mail to my colleagues... Watching one's back is obviously acceptable. I Google the company and what I see pleases me.
My colleagues respond with mutual excitement. Am I at the brink of clinching a fat deal? Hold your horses, I warn myself. Since I'm not one to jump to conclusions, I message my mates to dig a little deeper into the company's background. In a few seconds, I've got the buzz around them. What I hear, I decidedly like.
