So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Chapter 4. Wireless Flash Photography with the Speedlite System
The simple beauty of the Canon Speedlite System is that you can trigger any number of Speedlite flashes without any cords linking them together or to the camera, and automatically control many difficult lighting scenarios. The Speedlite's E-TTL II preflash, working together with the camera, does all the work for you; all you have to do after that is make some minor adjustments and you're ready to shoot. You make all of your adjustments behind the camera on the 580EX II flash LCD monitor or the back panel of the ST-E2 Speedlite transmitter or the External Speedlite control menu on some of the newer Canon cameras.

The Canon Speedlite System allows you the flexibility to set up your flashes in groups, and to individually control flash exposure on your subject and background, as well as add a hair light or backlight that you also control.
This chapter provides an overview of how the Canon Speedlite System uses the camera and master units to communicate with the remote units, and opens up a whole new world of creative possibilities for your photography.
