So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

Jedes Softwaresystem stellt zwei unterschiedliche Werte zur Verfügung: das Verhalten und die Struktur. Die Struktur ist der wichtigere der beiden Werte, denn sie sorgt dafür, dass die Software soft (also weich und formbar) ist.
Software war von Anfang an als »weiches« Produkt gedacht und sollte eine einfache Möglichkeit bieten, das Verhalten von Maschinen (Hardware) zu modifizieren. Diese Flexibilität hängt jedoch entscheidend von der Form des Systems, der Anordnung seiner Komponenten und der Art und Weise ab, wie diese Komponenten miteinander verbunden sind.
