WHAT WILL THE ORGANIZATIONS of the twenty-first century look like? The easy answer is that despite the traumas of the recent past, they will look very much like the organizations of the twentieth century. Organizations do not change overnight. But we believe that the years that follow will see subtle changes to the organizations that we know today. Not all organizations will change, of course. Some will remain obstinately the same.
