I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Einleitung
Die Programmiersprache COBOL gibt es seit etwa 1960 und COBOL steht ausgeschrieben für Common Business Oriented Language, also für eine Programmiersprache zur Lösung von kaufmännischen Problemen.
Aufgrund des Alters und der Zielrichtung dieser Sprache ist es nicht verwunderlich, dass es sehr viele Implementierungen auf den unterschiedlichsten Plattformen gibt und diese bis heute noch in Funktion sind.
Auch wenn es heutzutage keine großen Neuentwicklungen mehr geben dürfte, die in COBOL stattfinden, spielt die Wartung der immer noch produktiv laufenden Systeme eine wichtige Rolle.
