This project presented an interesting design opportunity. The Mexican
government asked Origin Design of Houston to create a series of scrips
that would function in place of peso-denominated paper money. The
scrips function much like coupons, allowing bearers to secure food,
clothing, or gas, depending on specific designation.
The design problem was to create a currency system that would work
in its own world, replete with a visual language. Each of the different
scrips has its own color scheme, enabling easy identification of the
