MEL provides a lot of commands for creating and editing animations. Also, many of the commands can be very useful for automating a lot of the typical animation tasks. While it is usually the task of an animator to define all the keyframes for an object, using MEL, it is also possible to create, edit, and delete keys. By programmatically generating keyframes, you can create complex animations that would be impossible or simply impractical through more traditional methods.
