When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Role-based authorization strategy
Having to enable all these permissions for individual users can be a bit tedious and gets pretty annoying after a while. Luckily, there is a plugin to solve this, the Role-based Authorization Strategy plugin (https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Role+Strategy+Plugin). This plugin does quite a lot. First, it adds a new option for global security, Role-based Strategy. Once you have chosen this type of authorization, a new item is added to the Jenkins management menu named Manage and Assign Roles. This opens up a new menu with three items of which we will discuss two, Manage Roles and Assign Roles.
On the Manage Roles screen, you can add roles and assign permissions just like in the matrix-based security. ...
