Testing practices that have been successfully applied in CREATE and other physics-based codes are discussed in this chapter, with an emphasis on reducing faults and accelerating development though automated continuous integration and testing. These practices are based on recommendations in the National Academy of Sciences 2012 study of verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification and other sources (NRC 2012).
