Based on an extensive analysis of the wireless communication application domain, in Chapter 2, Ascheid and Meyr propose an architecture description language (ADL) based design flow for ASIPs. While Chapter 4 has elaborated on ADL design issues in detail, in this chapter we focus on advanced software tools required for ADL-based ASIP architecture exploration and design.
