Capturing Video
The Canon EOS 5D Mark IV can shoot full HDTV movies with monaural sound (or stereo sound if you plug in an external microphone) at 4096 × 2160 (4K) resolution, 1920 × 1080 (Full HD) resolution, or video at 1280 × 720 (Standard HD) resolution. In some ways, the camera’s Movie mode is closely related to the 5D Mark IV’s Live View still mode, and relies on many of the same features for presenting an image, focusing, and other functions, so the information in the previous chapter will serve you well as you branch out into shooting movies with your camera.
To shoot in Movie mode, just rotate the Live View/Movie switch to the Movie position. Press the Start/Stop button to begin/end capture. The screen will look like the one shown ...
