Part II. The COBOL Business Logic Component

Part I introduced the key concepts of components, transactions, and error handling for business applications, together with the KanDoIt company’s new business application. This Part looks at the design and programming of the COBOL business logic component for KanDoIT’s business application. It includes the following chapters:

  • Chapter 4, describes the stages that you need to think about when designing the business logic which allows you to create, read, update and delete records from a keyed file.

  • Chapter 5, introduces a range of CICS commands which are used in the COBOL business logic program.
