INTRODUCTION

This picture was created in honor of the Dutch still-life painter, Pieter Claesz (1596/97–1660), who, in my eyes, was the greatest of all the Dutch still-life painters. My goal was to recreate the particularly special atmosphere that shines through his pictures with the use of modern technology – peace and beauty in a little place, of simple means, where the eye can relax and the mind can meditate over the forms, lighting and details.
