I wanted to learn C and C++, but it didn't click for me until I picked up an O'Reilly book. When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.
I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.
I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

One of the most famous images of all time, The Blue Marble, is a photograph of planet Earth taken on 7 December, 1972 by the Apollo 17 crew from a distance of about 29,000 kilometres up. It’s one of the most iconic and reproduced images of all time, and has been credited with starting the environmental movement. What few people realize is that the image we all see has been flipped. The original had the northern hemisphere at the bottom, which we know of course is ‘wrong’.
The north and south poles are fixed by nature, not man. It’s an axis we spin around, but when Earth is actually a sphere suspended in space, the idea that north should be at the top of maps is totally arbitrary, but universally understood ...
