lized to speed up the attack. A graphics card’s GPU can be orders of magnitude faster for
decryption than using a computer’s RAM. Gaming computers can be configured with mul-
tiple parallel high-speed graphics cards with dramatic increases in decryption capabilities.
Audio, video, and graphic files are common evidence that must be processed by
an investigator. e files often need enhancement, so familiarity with tools that can
provide this capability is a key skill. Situations where this comes into play include
working through surveillance video, processing pictures with poor resolution or focus,
and counterfeit cases. Soft
