Introduction
Of all the books that I have read dealing with digital forensics, coverage of psycho-
logy, ethics, and culture seems to be completely overlooked. As I work on the cases, it
becomes clear to me that these areas are the central aspects of digital forensic inves-
tigations. What I want to cover in this chapter would be not only the psychological
aspects of the person(s) being investigated but also the psychological aspects of the
investigator. An investigator faces many ethical questions, many of which present
