DIGITAL FORENSICS EXPLAINED
(Wondracek, 2010) describes a technique to uncover the members of social net-
working groups as they visit designated website locations. eir study found that the
information stored by social networking site about the group membership of a user
was adequate to uniquely identify the members of the group visiting the website. e
technique described uses “web browser history stealing attack” to accomplish this
goal. As a result, when a social network user visits a designated website, the web-
site can launch this “de-anonymization attack” and learn the identity of its visitors
(Wondracek, 2010).
