3. From a map for SOP, for a map of the POS maxterms, we just consider a

dot (AND) sign operation replaced with the + (OR) sign and each variable

A, B, C and D just replaced by their respective complements. Also instead

of placing 1s, we place 0s in POS Karnaugh maps.

3.3 FIVE AND SIX VARIABLE KARNAUGH MAPS

When the number of variables are ﬁve, we can make two maps, each with four vari-

ables, B, C, D and E with ﬁfth variable A = 0 and A = 1, respectively. One map is
