Now that we have laid the groundwork for understand Disability Inclusion in Part III I share the pillars of Disability Inclusion. I examine how corporate culture, Disability Culture, and the DEI movement can best work together to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities through the recruitment, hiring, accommodation, and retention aspects of disability employment. Done correctly, I believe these suggestions will lead to higher levels of employee engagement and loyalty across the spectrum.
I acknowledge there has been slow progress to Disability‐Friendly Inclusion in the workplace and in the world. While our progress has been painfully slow, with this guidance you and all employers should see much greater and much faster inclusion of employees with disabilities in the workplace.
One of the biggest keys to success in this process is having the important and necessary conversations, adopting and communicating the appropriate organizational policies, and implementing proper disability‐friendly practices. Your organization will be able to attract a larger pool of qualified talent with disabilities when your business processes are ready to welcome people with disabilities.
