ISO Tests for the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D
Shane Hurlbut, ASC, and his team conducted a comparison ISO test between the Canon 5D Mark II, 7D, and the 1D, showing how the 1D manufactured more noise than the 7D or the 5D (see Figure A2.1).
Canon's 1D revealed high levels of noise, far more than the 7D or 5D Mark II. The test confirms the native settings of ISO 160, 320, 640, and 1250. The Canon Rebel T2i has all of its settings native.
The more noise in the test shot for the ISO shows how the 7D matches up to the 5D Mark II (see Figure A2.2).
