Electric charge is all around us. Indeed, many of the everyday items that we use in the home and at work rely for their operation on the existence of electric charge and the ability to make that charge do something useful. Electric charge is also present in the natural world and anyone who has experienced an electric storm cannot fail to have been awed by its effects.
