We have called this book Enterprise Patterns and MDA—Building Better Software with Archetypes Patterns and UML. The first part of the title sets the theme for the book as a whole: we aim to provide you with a set of essential patterns for enterprise computing. These are not technical “design patterns”; rather, they are essential business patterns that are found, at least to some degree, in virtually all enterprises. You should find that one or more of these patterns are immediately applicable in software development projects.
