Because SCSI has been around for such a long time, it is the topic of numerous books, including those by Schmidt (1999) and Field and Ridge (1999). Field and Ridge’s SCSI book is noteworthy for its readability. An excellent introduction to SAN and NAS systems is written by Spalding (2003). Tate et al. (2005) contains a good introduction and detailed information about specific products that will improve your understanding of the technology. The books by Clark (1999) and Thornburgh (1999) are very good introductions to Fibre Channel SANs. No-hype introductions to cloud storage can be found in the papers by Abadi (2009) and Buyya (2009).
