Evolved UMTS Architecture
The aim of this chapter is to enter into the details of Evolved UMTS architecture, and complete the general overview provided in Chapter 2. For that purpose, this chapter will describe in more detail the functional entities of the network as well as the interfaces and protocols. A special focus will be given on the radio interface, but the IMS protocol stack, built on top of Evolved UMTS architecture, will also be described.
