Abstract

Software processes have been widely studied since software engineering placed the focus on them, especially in the 1980s of the 20th century with the appearance of CMMi and other well-known proposals. Researchers and practitioners have explored most of the aspects of software processes, although the connection to the IT professionalism profiles has been neglected, probably because the work with professional roles has only recently been modeled with references like e-CF (EN16234) or ESCO. These references define skills and competences for the roles but this chapter focuses on the soft skills analysis that we can extract from these recent models for IT professionalism in the framework of software processes. This chapter explores the links between software processes, IT profiles and the recommended soft skills for them.
