A vast majority of coaching assignments generally include goal setting as a key method in moving a coaching client forward. Research has consistently found that setting specific goals (rather than just ‘good luck and do your best’ thinking) results in greater performance on a consistent basis (Latham and Kinne, 1974; Locke and Latham, 2002).
