I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
18.2. Model Compilers and the Software Platform
Many systems are deployed today using Executable UML and an appropriate model compiler. Among these systems we count:
telecommunications switches
pacemakers
intermodal transportation logistics
telephone billing
stock trading
automotive navigation systems
copiers and fax machines
The list is long and growing, as you would expect.
Each model compiler compiles an Executable UML model to a specific target implementation: a software platform. The relationship between a model compiler and a software platform is analogous to the relationship between a language compiler and its hardware platform.
