About the Authors

Vinay Couto is a principal of PwC's Strategy& in the people and organization strategy practice based in the Chicago office. He leads this practice and leads the global Fit for Growth platform. He has worked with clients in the automotive, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, media and broadcasting, consumer packaged goods, retail, banking, technology, and insurance industries. Mr. Couto is a recognized thought leader; has contributed to numerous strategy+business articles, including “Headquarters: Irrelevant or Irreplaceable?,” “How to Be an Outsourcing Virtuoso,” “Making Overhead Outperform,” “The Globalization of White-Collar Work,” and “The New CFO Agenda: Global G&A Survey Insights and Implications”; and is the coauthor of CFO Thought Leaders: Advancing the Frontiers of Finance. Mr. Couto is a three-time recipient of Strategy&'s prestigious Professional Excellence Award, which was given in recognition for innovative work with clients. Mr. Couto holds an MBA from the Columbia Graduate School of Business and a First Class Honors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London University.
