Listen Up: Effective Listening
In the previous chapter, “Who Needs You?,” we discussed the value and power of teamwork—that by working in a team, we promote diversity, and that embracing those with different temperaments and inclinations ensures that all aspects of a project are addressed. As noted, to effectively communicate within a diverse team, we must develop three essential skills:
1. Respect
2. Persuasion
3. Listening
These are all core skills, and each one is worthy of separate in-depth study. The respect we show others is a key to building meaningful relationships.
